Workplace Access & Safety recently hosted the webinar A Survival Guide to the Roof Anchor Safety Alert and Australian Standard AS/NZS 5532 featuring Michael Tooma (Norton Rose Fulbright), Ehab Melek (SAI Global) & Carl Sachs (Workplace Access & Safety). The webinar was in response to the recently issued safety alert regarding roof safety anchors by the Working At Height Association.
Anchors are lifesaving devices routinely used by people wearing harnesses to connect their lanyards to the building, with hundreds of thousands installed on Australian government and commercial workplaces. The failed anchors were tested in accordance with an Australian Standard, AS/NZS5532, published in 2013.
