Frequently Asked Questions

Many people have the assumption that working at height is only a risk above 2 meters, however a fall can be anything over 300mm and falls from these heights are a more regular occurrence.

In order to perform Height Safety Inspections you have to be considered a competent person. What does this mean?

  • Certified Training Processes
  • Accredited inspection process e.g. NATA
  • Understanding of all manufacturers installation and construction requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of applicable standards and legislation and how it applies to the equipment.
This varies from state to state, however height safety systems such as anchor points and fixed ladders in normal conditions should be inspected at least annually. PPE such as harnesses, lanyards and ropes should be inspected at least 6 monthly. All equipment should be adjusted based on the frequency of use.
Once you have an agreement in place with Workplace Access we will remind you 6 weeks prior to it falling due.

The inspection company should at a minimum provide;

  • A compliance inspection report detailing the specific and compliance of each asset, with recommendations and actions based on the standards.
  • A site plan with all assets overlayed, linked back to the asset register.
  • A clear plan of what to do next.
