The bill to create an' Amendment to the Occupational Health and Safet Act 1985' along with the 'Crimes (Workplace Deaths and Serious Injuries) Bill' are currently listed for consideration in the Upper House of Parliament (Legislative Council) in the State Government of Victoria. These bills have already been passed through the Lower House of Parliament (Legislative Assembly) but have been sent back for review after being listed in the Upper House.

Once they have been approved in the Upper House (house of review), the bill will be enacted. After the Labour Party won the November 2002 State Elections with so many seats, it is envisaged that this bill will pass in the first sitting of parliament.
